Steak Zombies Fashion Research Performance

The conventional procedure of creating fashion is to design a garment first, sample it and display a final pinnacle collection on the catwalk. Steak Zombies have reversed this process to research new fashion formats and designs.

Their focus is the manufacturing process. The catwalk is a conveyor belt on which models transport garments between the artists and the designers. The outcome of the performance becomes a sketchbook to reproduce the creations of the night that are turned into a collection.

Before the show, the Steak Zombies invite and collaborate with other artists and designers to create basic garments, patterns and patches. During the show, the clothes are transformed while embellishments, airbrushed or screen-printed graphics are applied live on stage.

The interaction between all people involved, time and space, music and visuals create a new opportunity for free-style experimentation.
